Glenn Beck on President Hinckley

Thanks to Brad Stoddard for pointing me to Glenn Beck's comments the day after President Hinckley's passing.

  1. I thought it was a very classy tribute; not preachy or overly religious (can't have any of *that* on CNN now!)

The nice thing is that lots of non-members watch his show. Good exposure for the Church...

  3. Thanks for referring Glenn Beck's comments to us. It was a very touching tribute to President Hinckley from someone who had never personally met him but had been greatly influenced by his example.

I did have the blessing of meeting President Hinckley many years ago and I also have been greatly influenced by his teachings and his great love and example for all of us.

  4. Yeah, quite a guy! I remember a long time ago when I was new in the church and Bro. Gordon was an apostle. He spoke at an "anniversary of scouting" meeting in the Tabernacle. He spoke about the attributes of a worthy priesthood holder - "Trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly...." [sound familiar?]

I also remember a non-Mormon newsman once saying that the church should be proud of its president, and that if Gordon B. Hinckley wasn't more careful, he was going to give Christianity a good name. The article was quite a tribute coming from one outside our faith.

Paul [who misses him but is happy for him]

  5. A mission companion of mine sent this link to me as well and what a fabulous tribute to President Hinckley. I am glad to see that Brother Beck also had the courage to mention something as "touchy" as his religious beliefs as well.
